Fertilskin is Launched!!

When I started my OB/Gyn residency at Duke over a decade ago, it was uncommon to see women under the age of 35 in the fertility center.  I still remember the day a woman who was 32 with an FSH of 12 walked in and everybody was amazed to see somebody that young with severe infertility.  Now, twelve years later, I very frequently have women coming into the clinic who are 28 and have an FSH of 17.  That level use to be associated with women over age 45!

After seeing a number of these women, I had to start asking myself, "Why is this happening?"  As a woman, it bothers me to see the incidence of infertility continually increasing and not try to determine the cause.  I started asking these women questions about their health habits and daily lives.  The one common theme for all of these women was a high use of various skin care products.  I began doing research and was astounded at how many chemicals were in these products that were toxic to our reproductive health.

I looked around for products that did not contain these chemicals and found virtually none.  Most skin care products these days are designed to reduce aging, prevent sun damage, or have long shelf lives.  The chemicals used to reach all three of these goals are generally either bad for the reproductive system or toxic to embryos.

After much searching, I decided that the only solution was to develop a new skincare line called Fertilskin.  I worked for over a year with an organic, specialty cosme-ceutical company to develop the current line of skin care products.  I have personally evaluated and researched every ingredient that is in these products and their impact on fertility.  These products are "reproductive system safe" and not toxic to eggs, sperm or embryos.  In addition, they produce great results for your skin.  You can read more about what I have found on environmental toxins and how they affect fertility here.
